Units & rooms
How to add a unit on the Units tab and what its fields are.

Najato's data model has two levels: Property → Unit. Leases are always created against a specific unit, never against the property as a whole.
Properties › Property detail › Units › + Add
1
Open the Units tab
On the property detail it shows the list of existing units with their parameters.
2
Click “+ Add”
For the very first unit the modal is titled “Add property/unit details”, otherwise “Add unit”.
3
Fill in the parameters
Only Label is required (e.g. 3A, 12, 101). Then Name, Layout, Floor (0 = ground floor, -1 = basement), Orientation (compass direction), Floor area, Max. occupants, and Status — the default is “Available”.
4
Save
A confirmation screen appears with the choice “Add another unit” or “Go to unit detail”.
- If a property has just one unit, the app treats “the whole property” as a single unit — there's nothing extra to set up.
- If a property has multiple units (e.g. an apartment building), you create a unit for each flat or room separately.
- The “Occupied” status isn't in the dropdown — it's set automatically once an active lease exists on the unit.
- You edit an existing unit via its “Edit” link, which opens its own edit page.
Tip
Once a property has its unit, you can create a lease on it — see Create a lease.
